26 March 12:30pm: World Cup Soccer Watch Party + Sweden Waffle Day @ Swedish American Hall, 2174 Market St, SF. Sweden vs Ukraine. Winner advances; loser goes home. Wear yellow and blue. Because the day before the match is Sweden’s Våffeldagen (Waffle Day), during the match a homemade waffle cake will be served (see image below). Authentic Swedish beer and Swedish wine will be served free of charge to Swedish Club members as well as members of Bay Area Scandinavian organizations. The match will be projected LIVE on a giant screen. Just join us! PLEASE RSVP to rscottjohnson3@gmail.com so we have enough Swedish waffle cake and beverages for you.
28 March 2pm: New Member Semlor Welcome Party, Burlingame. Come welcome our new members and get to know them!
25 April 11am: Spring Luncheon + docent tour, Allied Arts Guild, Menlo Park. If you’ve not yet been to this lovely wisteria-draped building, it is absolutely lovely and must be experienced. We will enjoy a buffet with sides. Wine from Sjöblom Winery in Napa. Stay for the tour of the facilities (included in your ticket price).
2 May 8am: Swedish Club tent and team at Scandinavian School Viking Run, Golden Gate Park, SF
31 May 2:30pm: Skål & Style (Sweden Day) 2026 Event at Swedish American Hall. Swedish light bites by Michelin bib gourmand chef Roberth Sundell of Stockhome. Swedish flag parade + national anthems. Swedish wine, Swedish beer, Swedish artisanal chocolate, Swedish winegums, Swedish caramels, Scandinavian folk costume show and presentation. Swedish Club to host with every significant Bay Area Swedish American organization participating: Swedish Society, Vasa Order, Svenska Kyrkan, SWEA, Scandinavian School, SACC, Sveadal Club. Participating Swedish wineries: Arlids, Ljungbyholms, Flädie. Participating Swedish breweries: Åbro, Omnipollo. Participating Swedish confectioners: Malmö Chokladfabrik, Höganäs Chocolate, Sweeds Winegums, Pärlans Konfectyr. Tickets to go on sale April 2026.

Come join us at TopGolf Burlingame (258 Anza Blvd, Burlingame, CA 94010).
Grab a wine or brew from the bar and cheer our Swedish Blågult to victory. Wear YELLOW and BLUE if you’ve got it! Look for the Swedish flag on the table. Meet 12:30pm. Match starts at 12:45pm. No cost to join. Pay for your own bar food and drinks. This match is do-or-die for Sweden’s World Cup hopes. Winner advances; loser goes home to await the 2030 World Cup. The last year Sweden qualified for the World Cup was 2018, where they reached the quarterfinals by defeating Switzerland.

2 May 8am: Swedish Club is a proud sponsor of the Scandinavian School’s 2026 Viking Run. Swedish Club will have a tent and a team of runners/walkers participating in this fundraiser.
31 May 2:15pm: Swedish Club’s Skål & Style 2026 celebration of artisanal Swedish chocolate, Swedish caramels, Swedish winegums, Swedish wine, Scandinavian canapes from Michelin chef Sundell of Stochkome. Flag parade with military hussar uniforms.

We were fortunate to be able to enjoy several gorgeous folk costumes. Two from Småland (Visingsö and Östbo, 2nd and 3rd from left, respectively), Skedevi from Östergötland (4th from left), Färila from Hälsingland (2nd from right) and the famed Leksand from Dalarna (far right), which has some of the finest embroidery work of any Swedish folk costume.

About 20 of us enjoyed libations and snacks at Inger’s home. The rain did not dampen the festivities. The trivia game was a success.
