Saturday, 20 June @ 10am: Swedish Club Midsummer @ Sveadal (near Morgan Hill, CA). Come join us for dancing around the Maypole (12pm), then stay for our Swedish Club potluck luncheon (1pm) during which we will honor our 2026 Midsummer Knight Siri Holbrook. Don’t worry about bringing a dish if you’re not yet a Swedish Club member - just bring yourself; we just want your company! Parade at 4pm followed by singing and speeches.

Sweden v Tunisia Watch Party @ Swedish American Hall (SF)

Approximately 30 attendees came to enjoy all or part of the match (Sweden demolished Tunisia 5-1) on the giant projector screen in the “library” at Swedish American Hall. Swedish white wine was served (Flädie Aniara and Klagshamn Ego), as well as Norwegian craft beer. Pizza, chicken wings and light bites were enjoyed.

Costume shown is Fanø Island, Denmark’s only folk costume that never went out of regular use.

Thursday, 26 March 2026: Sweden World Cup Soccer Watch Party/Swedish Waffle Day Event at Swedish American Hall. Sweden defeated Ukarine 3-1 in a surprising upset. Fresh-baked Swedish waffle cake, Swedish deviled egg, Scandinavian mini-quiche, Scandinavian beer and mead.

We were fortunate to be able to enjoy several gorgeous folk costumes. Two from Småland (Visingsö and Östbo, 2nd and 3rd from left, respectively), Skedevi from Östergötland (4th from left), Färila from Hälsingland (2nd from right) and the famed Leksand from Dalarna (far right), which has some of the finest embroidery work of any Swedish folk costume.
