Over 90 attendees; the event was over-capacity due to strong demand
Nationally renowned Scandinavian folk artist and two-time ASF award winner Pieper Fleck Bloomquist delivered an engaging talk and displayed several works.

Sweden v Tunisia Watch Party @ Swedish American Hall (SF)

Approximately 30 attendees came to enjoy all or part of the match (Sweden demolished Tunisia 5-1) on the giant projector screen in the “library” at Swedish American Hall. Swedish white wine was served (Flädie Aniara and Klagshamn Ego), as well as Norwegian craft beer. Pizza, chicken wings and light bites were enjoyed.

31 May 2026: Artisanal Scandinavian confections served to guests: Friis-Holm (Denmark), Standout (Sweden), Malmö (Sweden), Höganäs (Sweden), Fjåk (Norway), Pärlans (Sweden), Karamel Kompagniet (Denmark), Wally & Whiz (Denmark), Sweeds (Sweden). Costume shown is Fanø Island, Denmark’s only folk costume that never went out of regular use.

Swedish Club table at Viking Run. 2 May 2026. Swedish chocolate was given out as prizes for kids who dared to compete in the Club’s Viking Ring Toss game.

Sweden World Cup Soccer Watch Party + Swedish Waffle Day

Thursday, 26 March 2026: Sweden World Cup Soccer Watch Party/Swedish Waffle Day Event at Swedish American Hall. Sweden defeated Ukarine 3-1 in a surprising upset. Fresh-baked Swedish waffle cake, Swedish deviled egg, Scandinavian mini-quiche, Scandinavian beer and mead.

We were fortunate to be able to enjoy several gorgeous folk costumes. Two from Småland (Visingsö and Östbo, 2nd and 3rd from left, respectively), Skedevi from Östergötland (4th from left), Färila from Hälsingland (2nd from right) and the famed Leksand from Dalarna (far right), which has some of the finest embroidery work of any Swedish folk costume.
